Explination:
The Treo 750 shipped from Cingular without HSDPA enabled.  Currently it does plain UMTS without the HSDPA acceleration.  HSDPA is promised in an upgrade in the future in 2007.  In the mean time a hack has been supplied that enables HSDPA on the Treo 750.

Use it at your own risk!
There are no grantees to reliability and performance.  In fact there is a reason Palm and Cingular didn't ship with HSDPA enabled and it is probably because it's not 100% reliable or stable.  While there appears to be no obvious drawbacks to using HSDPA enabled by this hack, instability, battery drain, or network connection problems could be possible side effects.

Unlike the other hacks here, I take 0 credit for this one.  I am merely posting this out of convenience.  Otherwise it would remain buried in the forum thread.  All credit goes to the folks in the forum links to follow:

Install Instructions:

  1. Download the .cab file (wirelessly from this site, or download to your PC or MiniSD card)

  4. Allow it to boot all the way up.

  5. Reset the Treo 750 a second time.

  6. Wait at least 1-2 minutes.

  7. If you see the "U" (UMTS) icon on your Treo, then browse to http://dslreports.com/mspeed to test your download speed.  If you get over 384kbps, then HSDPA is enabled!
